Admission to The Doon School is a highly sought-after opportunity for students seeking a transformative educational experience. The admission process at The Doon School consists of two stages. In the first stage, students are required to take an admission exam held in major cities across India, including Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Dehradun. The written exam, conducted in November each year, assesses students in four sections: English, Mathematics, Scientific Approach, and Reasoning & Case Study Response.
In the second stage, students who successfully pass the written test are invited for a personal interview. These interviews are typically conducted in December at the school itself, as well as in select locations across India, including Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
It is important to note that The Doon School does not accept any new students after the eighth grade.

The Doon School Eligibility
The Doon School accepts boys for admission in January and April every year. Specifically, for the 8th grade (C form), admissions take place in January, while for the 7th grade (D form), admissions occur in April.
To be considered for admission to the 7th grade, a boy should be between 11 and 12 years old in September of the year in which he takes the entrance exam. On the other hand, for admission to the 8th grade, a boy should be between 12 and 13 years old in September of the year of the entrance exam. These age criteria determine the eligibility for admission to their respective grades at The Doon School.

Registration in The Doon School is completed in two steps:
